Miles City approves RR Depot minor subdivision final plat, waives lienholder timing requirement

The Miles City Council approved a waiver to a subdivision regulation and accepted the RR Depot final plat at its Sept. 23 meeting.
Council voted to waive the Miles City subdivision regulation requiring lienholder consent documents to be dated no older than 30 calendar days prior to submittal. Committee Member Brant Kassner moved the waiver and Committee Member Ed Pulecio seconded; the motion passed with the recorded affirmative votes.
On the final plat, Committee Member Brant Kassner moved and Committee Member Don Simpson seconded a motion to approve the RR Depot one-lot final plat. City Planner Joel Nelson explained that the item is a one-lot subdivision of the old railroad depot parcel, that BNSF and the co-applicant completed administrative review and complied with requirements, and that the tract would be conveyed to Custer County and then to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. The motion to approve the final plat passed with the recorded "Yea" votes.
The council's action clears the administrative steps recorded in the staff report and authorizes the waiver and plat approval as described in the minutes. The review deadline on the application was noted in the staff materials as Sept. 26, 2025.
