The board ratified multiple invoice lists covering Dec. 12, 2025 ($241,643.84), Dec. 19, 2025 ($536,444.52), Dec. 26, 2025 ($158,245.70), Jan. 2, 2026 ($823,492.13), and Jan. 9, 2026 ($779,373.67). Commissioner Steve Swaney moved the ratification and Commissioner Jerry Jaloszynski seconded; Administrator/Controller Brian Smith reviewed the lists before the motion carried with all seven commissioners voting yes.
Commissioner Steve Weber moved and Commissioner Tobin Hope seconded approval of recommended application and escrow fees for Special Use Permit and Site Plan Review for off-site Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS); the board authorized the chair to sign the fee documents.
The board approved a partial termination request under PA 116 for Timothy and Louise Mogg and instructed the Isabella County Clerk to forward the approved resolution to the Michigan Department of Agriculture’s farmland and open-space program; the motion was moved by Commissioner Tobin Hope and seconded by Commissioner James Moreno.
Two budget amendments passed unanimously: #2026-08BOC, providing temporary premium pay for direct care workers for Oct. 1–Dec. 31, 2025 (moved by Commissioner Bob Campbell, seconded by Commissioner James Moreno), and #2026-09BOC, adjusting the 2026 budget to reflect insurance opt-outs (moved by Commissioner James Moreno, seconded by Commissioner Jerry Jaloszynski). All motions report unanimous support in the meeting record.
