Chippewa County veterans committee approves grant distributions and posts part-time project director

The Chippewa County Department of Veteran Affairs Committee approved several administrative items at its March 25, 2025 meeting at the Chippewa Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie.
Robert Savoie, a committee member, moved to approve the meeting agenda; Brooks Partridge supported the motion and it carried on a voice vote. The committee also approved the February 25, 2025 minutes after a motion from Savoie supported by Partridge.
The committee approved MVAA grant distributions totaling $1,789.31, with a breakdown listed in the report (Transportation: $50; Part-time Compliance Officer/Project Director: $1,739.31). Robert Savoie moved to approve the distributions; Brooks Partridge supported the motion and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Chairman Jim Shogren moved, and Robert Savoie supported, to post a part-time Project Director position internally for the office; that motion carried on a voice vote. The committee also authorized one burial payment for March of $300.
The committee set its next meeting for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m. on a motion from Robert Savoie (listed in attendance as Bob Savoie) supported by Brooks Partridge.
