Chippewa County Road Commission adopts Earned Sick Time Act policy for administrative staff, authorizes negotiation strategy after closed session

The board approved the policy by a motion from Commissioner Moser, seconded by Commissioner Sprague. Later in the meeting the board moved into a closed session under Michigan statute MCL 15.267 Sec. 8(1)(c) to discuss negotiation strategy related to a collective bargaining agreement; the motion to enter closed session carried by unanimous roll call vote. The board returned to open session at 9:34 a.m. and then, by motion, authorized Manager Laitinen to begin the negotiation process within the limits and parameters discussed in closed session.
