The Miles City Finance Committee unanimously approved three items at its Dec. 4 meeting.
Connors Stadium roof: The committee voted 3-0 to recommend proceeding with a replacement of the Connors Stadium roof after Public Works Director Samantha Malenovsky said the city secured a match and that more than $60,000 is available in parks and recreation cash. The motion to approve the recommendation was made by Committee Member Brant Kassner and seconded by Committee Member Brooke Bartholomew.
Resolution No. 4655 (budget amendment): Clerk/Recorder Mary Rowe explained that Resolution No. 4655 amends the final FY2025-26 budget to align budgeted amounts with actual revenues and expenditures; she characterized the changes as bookkeeping adjustments. The committee approved the resolution on a motion by Committee Member Dan Scott, seconded by Committee Member Brooke Bartholomew.
Lot 8 Tract E industrial site lease: Contract Planner Joel Nelson reviewed a staff report and draft resolution for leasing Lot 8, Tract E. Nelson said the bid received of $1,500/year exceeded the minimum per-square-foot rent set by Resolution 4587 ($897/year). He noted the state shows Bear Buttz Septic as not in good standing and that Three G's Construction (the parent company) is in good standing; the proposed lease was revised to allow storage of equipment such as small dump trucks and skid-steer attachments. Committee Member Dan Scott moved to approve the staff recommendation; the committee voted 3-0 to recommend the lease.
All motions passed without recorded opposition. The committee adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
