Caffrey reported that the department issued 186 septic-tank permits and conducted 366 septic inspections in 2024. The health department also completed 343 routine food inspections, 21 pool inspections and four inspections of properties identified as potential meth labs. She noted the appointment of Dr. Lisa Clunie as the county health officer and the addition of several new board members during the year.
Highlighting the department's community-training efforts, Caffrey said a county-funded CPR program provided 885 HeartSaver classes in 2024 and that Narcan was distributed in connection with training activities, totaling 132 doses. "[The department] provided 885 HeartSaver classes," she said, and described the Narcan distribution as part of training outreach.
Commissioners received the report; no formal action on the health department's budget or personnel was recorded during the meeting. The presentation served as an overview of the department's 2024 workload and community outreach accomplishments.
