Harrison County approves right-of-way agreements and forwards loader appropriation to council

County Engineer Kevin Russel presented several highway matters April 7 that the commissioners approved or forwarded for further action.
The board approved a supplemental agreement with Lochmueller Group for right-of-way services on the Old Goshen Road construction project. Commissioners also approved a supplemental agreement with RQAW/DCCM to perform two types of appraisals for right-of-way acquisitions related to small structure replacement on Smith Creek Road at a cost of $10,925.
Russel proposed trading two CAT 299D2 compact track loaders for two new Bobcat T86 T4 machines under Bobcat's buyback program and requested an additional appropriation of $100,399.14 from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund to complete the transaction. Commissioner Kellum moved to forward the appropriation request to the County Council; Commissioner Wiseman seconded and the motion carried, 3-0.
Mr. Russel also presented the highway department equipment inventory; the report covered dump trucks, utility trucks, passenger vehicles, tractors, row graders, construction and maintenance equipment, and trailers. The commissioners approved the listed supplemental agreements and inventory as presented.
