Miles City Council elects Brooke Bartholomew as council president

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Miles City Council elected Councilmember Brooke Bartholomew as council president following nominations for two candidates. The council also approved routine minutes and appointments.
The Miles City Council on Jan. 13 elected Councilmember Brooke Bartholomew as council president after nominations from within the council and show-of-hands voting. Mayor Chris Grenz announced Bartholomew as the council president following the vote.
The council also approved minutes from several recent meetings and reappointed Dan Rice as city attorney and James Carr as deputy city attorney. Motions approving the Human Resources Committee minutes, regular council minutes, a special council meeting and finance committee minutes passed with recorded unanimous "Yea" votes from the eight councilmembers present.
The new appointments and leadership selection take effect immediately; councilmembers also accepted a consent agenda to streamline approval of multiple non-controversial appointments to boards and commissions. The meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
