Alpena County approves engineering study for Long Lake property, delays timber harvest

Administrator Jesse Osmer told the board the study is required regardless of any immediate timber sales; the county agreed that timber would not be harvested until the study is complete and that revenue from any future timber sales would be deposited into the same line item.
Commissioner Brenda Fournier moved to authorize the study with adjustments to the proposal as needed and a not‑to‑exceed amount of $14,800; Commissioner Travis Konarzewski supported the motion and the board approved by roll call vote.
