Representatives from engineering firm Clark Dietz updated the Dubois County Commissioners on Dec. 1 about progress and financing for the Regional Sewer District project and cautioned that a recent data error could affect financing options.
Shane Spicer and Heath Titzer told the board that work continues with Baker Tilly and the Indiana Finance Authority on project financing and that an error had been found in the median household income calculation for the service area, a figure used in IFA ranking and interest‑rate considerations. They said the error could affect financing opportunities and that they are updating the Preliminary Engineering Report on portions of the last submittal to reflect alignment changes.
Spicer said plat mapping for easement right‑of‑way is about 75% complete and warned that the Mid‑States Corridor alignment may complicate easement locations. He said the team’s priority is to get the PER and design plans approved so the project is shovel‑ready should funding become available.
No financing award has been announced; the presenters underscored that affordability for the citizens to be served remains a goal. The board accepted the update and approved a Baker Tilly conflict‑of‑interest waiver related to dual work for the county and the City of Jasper.
