County approves courthouse sewer repairs and $3,500 jail rendering

Commissioner Joel Keranen described a cracked pipe in the county IT department and pipe issues affecting third‑floor bathrooms. Building Department Manager Todd LaRoux explained the piping layout and said Northern Plumbing could begin work in a couple of weeks. Chairman Tom Tikkanen described the estimated cost as approximately $25,000; Administrator Rheault said courthouse maintenance funds are available. The board approved a contract with Northern Plumbing and Heating for up to $25,000 by unanimous vote.
Separately, Commissioner Roy Britz moved and Commissioner Glenn Anderson seconded approval of $3,500 for a jail rendering so the public can view the design progress; that motion carried by voice vote.
