Engineers brief Grant County on Schick Bridge replacement and inspection change

Interstate Engineering representative Maria Tomac briefed the Grant County Commissioners on Bridge Project BRJ 0019(027 (the Schick Bridge). The project includes replacement of one county bridge with a double‑barrel 10‑by‑10‑foot box culvert 54 feet in length, designed for a 15‑year event.
Tomac said a bridge located west of Lark was determined to be privately owned; the project will not physically remove that structure but it will no longer be inspected by county/NDOT inspectors. The update did not include construction dates or funding sources in the minutes.
Auditor Sara Meier also noted a Nov. 30, 2025 application deadline for North Dakota Department of Transportation Special Road Fund projects for the 2026 and 2027 construction years; Meier will be the county delegate to the North Dakota State Fair Association meeting on Nov. 18, 2025.
