Grant County commissioners voted Sept. 17 to apply for Flexible Funding to reshape and gravel CMC 1934 near Shields and to apply surface stabilizer, a project presented by Sauber Engineering.
Joseph Baneck of Sauber Engineering told the board the application is due Sept. 19, 2025. The project would be an 80/20 cost-share, with the county responsible for 20 percent of the cost if the application is successful. Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to apply for the funding; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded and the motion passed with unanimous ayes.
The action starts the county’s application process; further board or administrative steps would follow if the grant is awarded.
