Grant County commissioners approve $56,199.19 in bills, authorize IT backup contract and schedule zoning hearing

The Grant County Board of Commissioners on June 18 approved county bills totaling $56,199.19 and took several routine administrative actions, including approving an information-technology backup contract and scheduling a zoning hearing.
Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to approve the bills; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded. The board approved the payment list by roll call vote (Meyer—aye; Hochhalter—aye; Chairman Alton Zenker—aye). The vendor list included a $44,981.55 payment to Nutrien Ag Solutions, the largest single line-item on the list. The treasurer's report was reviewed earlier in the meeting by County Auditor Sara Meier.
Jackie Steinmetz asked the board to contract with Vanguard for a data-backup module for the county's CAMA parcel system. The license is a one-time fee of $400 with an annual $150 service charge. Commissioner Hochhalter moved to approve the contract; Commissioner Meyer seconded. The motion passed by roll call (Meyer—aye; Hochhalter—aye; Zenker—aye).
Jason Albert notified the board that a zoning-change hearing for property in Raleigh Township owned by Jeff VandenBurg and Timothy and Judy Tischmak was scheduled for Aug. 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grant County Courthouse.
Chairman Zenker adjourned the meeting at 1:41 p.m. The board noted its next scheduled meetings are July 2 and July 16, and that the courthouse will be closed July 3–4 in observance of Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day.
All procedural motions recorded in the minutes were approved by the three commissioners present.
