Jackie Steinmetz, Grant County tax equalization director, recommended that the county make no change to agricultural values for 2025, citing an average value of $371.33 in 2024 and a 2025 average certified by the Office of State Tax Commissioner of $376.29. The board accepted her recommendation.
Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to make no change to the agricultural value for 2025; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded. In a roll call vote Meyer, Hochhalter and Chairman Alton Zenker voted aye and the motion carried.
Keeping the valuation unchanged means the county will use the current local agricultural value schedule for property assessment and taxing calculations for 2025. The minutes do not record any dissenting discussion or amendment to the recommendation. The board adjourned at 11:55 a.m.; its next scheduled meetings are March 19 and April 2, 2025.
