Road department resignation accepted; county approves underground electric permit and landfill approach update

Jackie Steinmetz presented a permit request to bore for Mor Gran Sou #3/10-13189-85SW-A to install underground electric; Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to approve the permit and Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded; the motion carried by unanimous roll call. The board also approved an approach application from the City of Carson to update the approach at the landfill's southeast corner.
Road department activity was noted: Patrick Diehl reported that members of the road department are re-siding the repeater tower. Later in the meeting Mr. Diehl submitted his letter of resignation effective Dec. 1; the board accepted the resignation.
The board heard a partial completion report on the county's 2024 gravel crushing and stockpiling contract from John Sauber and approved a partial payment of $196,990.89 to Gravel Products Inc.
The minutes do not include a hiring plan or timeline to replace Mr. Diehl; the items were recorded as part of routine infrastructure and public-works business.
