Grant County Commissioners approved an abatement request from Kingdom Investors for parcels in Red Rock Resort and followed a 2024 State Board of Equalization directive to lower assessed values.
Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to approve the abatement application submitted by Kingdom Investors for parcels in Red Rock Resort; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded the motion. The board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote in favor. Later in the meeting the board reviewed a recommendation from the State Board of Equalization to reduce the listed parcel values from $4,791,300 to $4,250,000 for the 2024 assessment year. The commissioners voted unanimously to apply the State Board's change to the county's assessment rolls for 2024.
During the meeting Aaron Friesz also met with the board about the county assessment process for rural residences; the minutes state his property will be assessed because a timely exemption application was not filed and that he may submit an abatement application with supporting documentation to the tax director.
The minutes do not provide parcel numbers beyond the referenced appendix/attachment; the State Board's recommended value and the county's action to apply that change are recorded in the minutes.
