County attorneys present draft of ordinance rewrite; Planning & Zoning to review Feb. 11

States Attorney Todd Schwarz and Donovan & Kaffar attorney Mark Kaffar briefed the Mercer County Commission on the Ordinance Rewrite Project during the Feb. 4 meeting, saying a completed draft has been submitted for review.
The presenters indicated Planning and Zoning will take up the draft at its next meeting on Feb. 11, 2026, at the Beulah Civic Center. Planning & Zoning Chairman Mike Eslinger was noted in the minutes in connection with that scheduling detail.
No public comment on the ordinance rewrite was recorded in the minutes. Commissioners also discussed the purchase and use of the Beulah Building during the meeting; the minutes show discussion but record no formal action on acquisition or use of that facility.
The county recessed at 9:45 a.m. and reconvened at 10:00 a.m. for the ordinance item; the commission adjourned at 10:46 a.m. The Planning and Zoning Board will meet Feb. 11, 2026, at the Beulah Civic Center for further consideration of the ordinance draft.
