Sumter County Council grants second reading to extend Waste Management contract

Byrd, Jr. moved to grant second reading, Councilman Vivian Fleming McGhaney seconded, and the vote carried unanimously.
The extension will keep Waste Management as the county's vendor for convenience center operation and solid-waste collection pending any further contract amendments or competitive procurement processes required by county policy.
