Commissioner Leonard Burse moved to adopt and approve Resolution 2025-05; Commissioner Timmy Lucas seconded the motion. Chairman Elmer Thrift called for discussion, and none was offered before the board took a roll-call vote. Commissioners Burse, John Tindall, Timmy Lucas, Barry Cox and Chairman Elmer Thrift all voted “aye.”
County staff told the board the county met the statutory criteria for opting out, including holding three public hearings with at least one between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on a business day, advertising the hearings in a local newspaper and posting notice on the county website in advance. The resolution was presented as an action the board could take now that those procedural requirements had been completed.
No amendments or further debate were recorded. The minutes note the motion passed on a roll-call vote; the board moved on to other business and adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
