A petition to rezone a 21.21‑acre tract on Jordan Road and U.S. Highway 319 South was presented to the Tift County Board of Commissioners at its Feb. 4 work session.
Community Development Services Director Chad Branch said owners Jodi Lynn Jordan and Mary Melissa Jordan seek to change the property's zoning from AG (Agriculture) to R‑21 (Medium‑Density Residential) to allow a single‑family subdivision with homes roughly 1,800 to 2,200 square feet. "The owners are requesting the rezone for the purpose of developing a subdivision for single‑family residences between 1,800‑2,200 square feet," Branch said. The Planning Commission met Jan. 9, 2025, and voted unanimously to recommend approval.
No final vote was taken at the work session; the matter was placed on the Feb. 10 regular agenda for Board action.
