The Tift County Board of Commissioners on March 4, 2025 reviewed a petition to rezone a 0.66-acre tract at 3616 US Highway 82 W from RR1 (Rural Single-Family Residential) to GB (General Business) to allow an office and storage facility. County Manager Jim Carter said the petition was filed by WCTB Investors, with Wade Crumley listed as owner and agent, and that the Planning Commission had considered the Standards for the Exercise of Zoning Powers and recommended approval.
Carter told the board the parcel is adjacent to existing GB zoning, a factor the Planning Commission cited in its recommendation. The petition is recorded as TC-ZA-25-01 under Resolution No. 2025-10 and will be on the March 10 regular meeting agenda for formal consideration by the board.
No public opposition or speakers were recorded at the March 4 work session. The board did not take a final vote at the work session; action is scheduled for the formal meeting on March 10.
