Tift County commissioners reappoint members to elections, dog board, Keep Tift Beautiful and library boards

The Tift County Board of Commissioners unanimously reappointed four local board members during its June 9 meeting.
County Clerk Miriam Jordan reported that the terms of Stephanie McKee (Board of Elections), Josh Rousey (alternate, Dangerous Dog Board), David Rhode (Keep Tift Beautiful) and Dr. Franzelle Mathis-Pertilla (Tifton–Tift County Library Board) were expiring and that each was willing to serve another term. There were no other applications on file for any of the openings, the clerk said.
Chairman Tony McBrayer opened the floor for nominations for each seat. Commissioner Melissa Hughes nominated Stephanie McKee for the Board of Elections; Commissioner Stan Stalnaker seconded the motion and the board approved the reappointment 5-0. Commissioner Greg Wood nominated Josh Rousey to continue as an alternate on the Dangerous Dog Board; Stan Stalnaker seconded and the vote was 5-0. Commissioner Stan Stalnaker nominated David Rhode to Keep Tift Beautiful; Greg Wood seconded and the board approved 5-0. Commissioner Melissa Hughes nominated Dr. Franzelle Mathis-Pertilla to the Tifton–Tift County Library Board; Greg Wood seconded and the board approved 5-0.
Each reappointment was recorded in the minutes as carried by unanimous vote. The minutes do not list start dates beyond noting terms expire June 30, 2025, nor do they list additional competing applicants.
