• Finance and refunds: The board denied a property tax refund request from Nathaniel M. Green for $214.19; staff noted state law limits refunds to the prior three years and the Board of Assessors recommended denial.
• Municipal elections: Commissioners approved agreements with the cities of Cedartown and Rockmart to have the Polk County Board of Elections conduct municipal elections on Nov. 4, 2025. Each city will pay a $750 nonrefundable setup fee; invoices will be issued after the election.
• Surplus property: The county approved the August 2025 surplus list (including a 2004 Ford F-250 and a 2006 Crown Victoria, light bars, courthouse seats, monitors/keyboards) to be sold on GovDeals, excluding the lot of courthouse benches. • Appointments: Marty Robinson was reappointed to the Northwest Georgia Region 1 EMS Advisory Council.
• Personnel policy: The board amended Section 5 of the Personnel Policy to remove the sentence prohibiting immediate family members from being employed in the same department; the policy still forbids family members supervising one another.
