Putnam Development Authority approves minutes, financials, survey quote and HVAC repair; holds executive session

The Putnam Development Authority took several routine and administrative actions Oct. 14 during its meeting in Eatonton.
Member Mylle Mangum moved, and Member Patty Burns seconded, to approve the Aug. 12, 2025 regular meeting and executive session minutes; Chairman Walt Rocker III and Members Burns, Brice Doolittle, Mangum and John Wojtas voted yea.
Member Patty Burns reviewed the August and September 2025 financials and reported that the authority's certificates of deposit had been switched for an additional six months at an interest rate of 4.5%. Member Mangum moved to approve the August and September financials; Member Wojtas seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board approved a $1,250 quote from Joey Brewer, Land Surveyor — ACRE Group, for initial research related to a potential new sign at the South Industrial Park. Member John Wojtas made the motion; Member Brice Doolittle seconded and the members voted yea.
The authority ratified a $16,165 expense to ACS for an HVAC unit at Central Georgia Technical College. Member Mylle Mangum moved and Member Brice Doolittle seconded the ratification; the motion passed with all members voting yea.
Later in the meeting, the board voted to enter executive session under O.C.G.A. §50-14-4 for real estate; the meeting was closed at about 1:38 p.m. After the closed session the board voted to reopen the meeting and to execute an affidavit concerning the closed portion; the meeting reopened at about 2:17 p.m.
Executive Director Matt Poyner presented departmental updates during the meeting including training requirements, meetings with Fortis and the Chamber, project activity, workforce development and other routine items. The minutes record that a copy of each referenced agenda document (minutes, financials, resolutions, affidavit) was made part of the official record.
