The Long County Board of Commissioners met at 9 a.m. March 1 in Ludowici and unanimously approved the day’s agenda, ratified the February 2022 minutes and authorized payment of county bills before adjourning.
Chairman Robert Parker called the meeting to order and noted the following officials were present: Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker, Commissioner John Reddish, Commissioner Jeremy Hall, County Attorney James Smith, County Clerk Mary Ann Odum, Deputy County Clerk Brandi Smiley and County Administrator Russell Simmons. Commissioner Baggs was absent.
Judge Teresa Odum led the invocation, and the commissioners led the Pledge of Allegiance. The board then moved quickly through routine business. Commissioner John Reddish moved to approve the March agenda; Commissioner Jeremy Hall seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Vice Chairman Gerald Blocker moved to approve the February 2022 minutes; Commissioner Reddish seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Reddish moved to authorize payment of bills for the county; Vice Chairman Blocker seconded and that motion also passed unanimously. Finally, Commissioner Jeremy Hall moved to adjourn; Commissioner Reddish seconded and the meeting was closed by unanimous vote. No public hearings, debates, or votes on ordinances or budgets were recorded in the minutes for this session.
The meeting took place at Long County’s meeting room at 75 West Academy Street in Ludowici. The board recessed with no further action scheduled in the recorded minutes.
