County Manager Michael Dinnerman told the board the county is currently in a comfortable position but cautioned that the county faces a difficult budget cycle: "If we continue the way we are going; Expenditures are going to be more than Revenues," according to the meeting record. He attributed the existing fund balance to coordinated efforts across departments.
The audit figures offer a snapshot of the county’s financial position at the end of 2020 but do not resolve projected revenue and expenditure pressures for the coming fiscal year. Commissioners did not record any vote tied directly to the audit presentation; the audit was presented as informational material to inform upcoming budget work.
