The Coffee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a slate of board appointments and passed a resolution naming Jeffrey Walter Pridgen II to Tax Assessors Board Post #5 during its July 1 meeting.
County Administrator Wesley Vickers reviewed the appointments and the terms for each nominee, noting the appointees agreed to continue serving. The list included Brannen Pruett (Unison Behavioral Health), Amanda Wildes (Coffee County Library Board), Mary Ann Huff (Family and Children Services), Dr. Wilma Lott (Tax Assessors Board), Drew Walker (GA Forestry Commission), Morris Smith Jr. (Southeast Georgia EMS Board) and Linda McDuffie (Concerted Services Board), among others.
Commissioner AJ Dovers moved to approve the minutes of the June 3 pre-meeting, regular and executive sessions and Commissioner Oscar Paulk seconded; the board voted to approve the minutes. Commissioner Ted O’Steen moved to approve the appointments slate; Vice Chairman Johnny Wayne Jowers seconded and the motion carried unanimously. In a separate resolution introduced by Vickers, Commissioner O’Steen moved and Vice Chairman Jowers seconded the appointment of Jeffrey Walter Pridgen II to Tax Assessors Board Post #5; that resolution passed unanimously.
The moves formalize terms that run through 2027–2029 for most appointments; where exact term lengths or start dates were not provided in the meeting record, those items remain as stated by county staff. The appointments take effect as recorded by the county clerk.
