The Pierce County Board of Commissioners heard a request to rezone a 50-acre tract on Highway 121 (Parcel #043-029) from Agriculture/Forestry to Single-Family for residential development.
Applicant Neal Griffis told the board he would like to build homes of about 2,400 square feet and said the houses would be “spec homes” unless a buyer requests a custom build. Commissioner Randy Dixon asked whether the homes would be spec or custom; Griffis said they would be spec in most cases. Commissioner David Lowman asked whether each home would have its own driveway; Griffis affirmed that each home would have its own driveway.
A resident, Victor Gonzales, approached intending to speak in opposition but indicated he was addressing a different parcel. No motions or votes were recorded during the hearing; the commissioners requested standard follow-up on site plans and other application materials before taking further action.
