The Irwin County Board of Elections & Registrations on July 30 voted 2-0 to approve its FY2025 department budget for submission to the Irwin County Board of Commissioners.
Election Supervisor Ethan Compton said the budget changes reflect employee pay decisions reached in a June executive session, producing a net increase of $3,545.07 compared with FY2024, or 2.21 percent. Vice-Chair Charlene Hutchinson moved to accept the budget as presented; Representative Patricia Thurman seconded and the board approved the submission for the county commission’s review.
The board noted approval at this meeting (or a called meeting before the fiscal year begins September 1) was necessary to allow the commission time to review and approve department budgets. The transcript does not include line-item budget detail beyond the stated total increase or any county-commission responses.
