Bacon County approves Kubota tractor, Bush Hog mower and selects loan for Mack dump truck

Commissioner Corey Tyre moved to buy a Kubota tractor for $63,900.00; Commissioner Lonann Sweat seconded and the board approved the purchase, to be paid from the T-SPLOST fund. Commissioner Lonann Sweat then moved to purchase a Bush Hog rotary mower for $25,804.40; Commissioner Sammy Boatright seconded and the motion carried. The board recorded both purchases as T-SPLOST-funded capital expenditures.
During the same meeting officials reported that a Mack dump truck was ready for delivery at a listed price of $216,169.00. The county presented two five-year financing quotes: Pineland at 5.25% and FNB South at 5.00%. Commissioner Lee Hagans moved to accept the FNB South proposal and Commissioner Corey Tyre seconded; the motion carried.
The board did not record further conditions tied to the purchases or a delivery timeline during the meeting. The equipment approvals and the financing selection complete the board's authorization to proceed; county staff will handle procurement and loan closing under the terms approved by the board.
