Autauga County approves consent docket: personnel moves, budget transfers, jail change order and interlocal housing
Summary
The commission approved a broad consent docket including travel approvals, multiple budget transfers (postage, gasoline reimbursements), approval of change order #2 for the Jail/Courthouse Phase II, personnel actions in corrections (raises, resignations, terminations, hires), an interlocal inmate housing agreement with Coosa County, and several other routine administrative items.
At its June 17 meeting the Autauga County Commission approved a consent docket covering routine administrative, personnel and operational items.
The consent docket included authorization for designated personnel to attend training and conferences (reappraisal mapping, Alabama Jail Association conference, Alabama Road Safety Conference); a transfer of $38.23 from the commission postage account to the probate postage account; and transfers to the gasoline budget to reimburse departments for fuel used in May 2025, totaling $6,917.60 due from the general fund and $186.69 due from the reappraisal fund, as recorded in the minutes.
The commission approved payment transfers to the sheriff’s gasoline budget for animal control, SRO and jail usage, approved change order #2 for Phase II of the Jail/Courthouse project, and approved a one-year, one-step pay increase for Deputy Sheriff Corey Smith (DOH: 5/20/2024). The commission also approved an interlocal housing agreement with Coosa County to house inmates, accepted a resignation from correction officer Anna Fabritis effective June 20, 2025, recorded the termination of correction officer Starla Rawls effective June 13, 2025, and authorized hiring replacements.
Additional personnel actions included hiring Tony Scott as part-time Manufactured Home License Inspector effective July 1, 2025 to replace David Wurtz, and a pay adjustment for Ebony McQueen to move from PS301 step 4 to step 5 (originally approved May 20, 2025). Senior Services budget line adjustments were also approved, reallocating fuel, vehicle repair, cleaning and mileage lines as described in the minutes.
All motions on the consent docket were recorded as carrying by unanimous vote in the meeting minutes.
