Supervisors ask Pennoni Associates to justify extra charges on zoning/SALDO work

Manager Alice Rehrig and supervisors said Pennoni billed for extra meetings, rework of previously completed items and map revisions that followed work by URDC. Cindy Miller said the Board had been told earlier that Pennoni would “eat the cost” if the firm took over work midstream, and supervisors asked for a specific itemization of what drove extra fees before approving payment.
Attorney David Backenstoe recommended Pennoni appear at the next Board meeting with engineer Mike Muffley to walk through the billing. Rehrig agreed to invite Pennoni to explain the charges and provide greater specificity so the Board can determine whether to pay the additional amounts.
No release of payment was authorized at the meeting; the Board directed staff to invite Pennoni and related personnel to provide documentation and explanation.
