Procedural votes: Janet Sheats moved and David Hess seconded approval of the June 10 minutes; the motion passed unanimously. Cindy Miller moved to approve General Fund checks 28790–28821; Janet Sheats seconded and the board voted aye. Janet Sheats moved to approve State Fund check 1623; David Hess seconded and the motion carried. Cindy Miller moved to approve the recreation consultant RFP and direct the manager to advertise; David Hess seconded and the board voted to approve.
Manager Alice Rehrig said Jaindl Company may begin soil borings next week as part of work on land that will be transferred to the municipal authority for a wastewater-treatment project, provided Jaindl furnishes a certificate of insurance naming the township as additional insured.
Personnel: The police department completed testing for a sergeant; the board authorized moving forward with panel interviews and held a brief executive session to discuss a personnel matter. The township continues to accept applications for the Zoning Officer position through July 3.
Public comment covered enforcement of trespassing-posting rules and property maintenance. Resident Kermit Geary said he has had repeated trespassing and reported inconsistent guidance from police about required purple-paint markings or posting; supervisors said state law requires conspicuous posting and agreed to follow up with the police department. Resident Paul Nikisher asked that a vacant lot at Route 248 and Blue Mountain Drive be cut; Supervisor Janet Sheats said a brewery is proposed at the former Fore Scoops Drive-In site.
