Autauga County renews administrator's four-year contract and approves multiple personnel moves

The Autauga County Commission unanimously approved a four-year contract renewal for County Administrator Scott Kramer that will run from July 2, 2025, through July 2, 2029. The motion to renew the contract was made by Commissioner Bill Tatum and seconded by Commissioner Rusty Jacksland.

The renewal was part of a broader set of personnel and routine actions the commission approved on Feb. 18. The commission accepted the resignation of Linda Cottle, desk clerk, effective Feb. 25, 2025, and authorized hiring a replacement. It approved hiring Cedric Grant as a full-time correction officer (grade PS301, step 5), Tequila Jordan as a full-time correction officer (grade PS301, step 3), Brandon Lewis as a part-time driver (grade 3, step 2), and Jamarcus Poole as a part-time driver (grade 3, step 1). All hires were noted as pending successful background checks and drug testing where specified.

The commission also recorded the resignation of Justin Cunningham (Operator I, effective Feb. 5, 2025) and approved the termination of Eddrick Lee (Operator I, effective Feb. 12, 2025), authorizing staff to fill those vacancies. All personnel motions carried by unanimous vote.

Why it matters: The contract renewal secures county executive continuity through mid-2029 and the personnel approvals ensure staffing for law enforcement, public works and administrative functions. The actions were routine and carried without recorded opposition.
