Autauga County clears consent docket, approves ambulance RFP and waives arena fee in 4-1 vote

At its Dec. 17 meeting the Autauga County Commission handled routine business on a single consent docket and recorded several personnel and procurement actions.
The commission approved minutes of the Dec. 3 meeting, authorized payment of invoices through Dec. 17, approved training and travel requests, and approved transfers to gasoline and sheriff budgets as listed in the consent docket. It also approved bank designations for calendar year 2025, accepted multiple ACCA insurance recoveries for sheriff vehicles and approved a series of personnel actions including hiring and transfers.
The commission moved Maggie Jones from part-time clerk to full-time effective Dec. 18, 2024, approved internal transfer of Kenterrius Carter to Mechanic Apprentice II and hired Richard Badgley as a truck driver to replace him. The commission also voted to rescind two previously approved part-time driver hires. A batch of FY2025 solid waste exemptions (Batch 12) for named residents and addresses was approved.
The commission authorized county staff to issue a request for proposals for ambulance services to cover the towns of Autaugaville, Billingsley and Pine Level and unincorporated Autauga County while excluding the City of Prattville. The commission approved subdivision matters including Blueberry Hill (District 5) and the replat of Graham Ridge (District 4).
Commissioners waived the arena fee on March 13, 2025 for the Autauga County Cattlemen's Association Banquet by a 4-1 vote; Commissioner John L. Thrailkill was recorded as abstaining. Multiple competitive and public works bids for engineering materials and services for 2025 were approved and concrete was re-bid after no responsive offers were received earlier in November.
Motions approving routine personnel, procurement and exemption items were generally recorded as carrying by unanimous vote where noted. The meeting entered executive session at 5:22 p.m., reconvened at 5:36 p.m., and adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
