Union County approves personnel changes and temporarily closes Treasurer’s office for software rollout

The board accepted the resignation of jailer Roberto AlvarezArreola, effective Feb. 9, 2025. By motion of Commissioner Dailey and second of Commissioner Ustad the board appointed Kimora Cross as Chief Deputy State’s Attorney effective Jan. 1, 2025, and authorized hiring Grant Wunder as Deputy State’s Attorney at $6,250 per month effective Feb. 1, 2025. The board also approved Laurie Buum as Chief Deputy Register of Deeds at $4,254.35 per month effective Feb. 10, 2025.
Treasurer Hertel notified the board that a new motor vehicle software program called “605Drive” will be implemented on Feb. 14, 2025, and that business in the Treasurer’s office will be interrupted that day. The board voted to close the Treasurer’s office to the public for Feb. 14 and resume normal business hours on Feb. 18, 2025.
Rob Marlow of the Diversion Program introduced himself to the board and described the program’s work with juveniles in coordination with State’s Attorney Zenner.
