Autauga County Commission approves routine business, proclamations and personnel actions; split vote on liquor license, 4‑1 engagement agreement

Thrailkill moved to approve the minutes of the Oct. 15, 2024 regular meeting and invoices received through Nov. 5, 2024; Commissioner Bill Tatum seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The commission then approved a consent docket that included conference and training authorizations, six‑month probation confirmations for several employees, interdepartmental gasoline budget transfers totaling $6,791.43 from the general fund and $372.19 from the reappraisal fund for September usage, and the surplus and sale or destruction of specified sheriff equipment, including two Ford Explorer patrol vehicles and a Bell & Howell slim camera.
The commission unanimously adopted proclamations designating Nov. 22–28, 2024 as Farm‑City Week and Nov. 10–16, 2024 as Military Appreciation Week in Autauga County. Commissioners also approved Resolution #2025‑5 supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans, designating Nov. 4–11, 2024 for local observance and encouraging residents and businesses to display green lights to honor transitioning service members.
Commissioners approved personnel and payroll items for the sheriff's office and courthouse security, including a one‑time supplemental pay for probate and commission offices (payment dates noted), a supplemental payout for the sheriff's office to be reimbursed by the sheriff, several hires (including Nicholas Benjamin Cigelske as part‑time courthouse security pending background and drug screening), resignations, terminations and retirements, and step increases where noted.
The commission accepted a FY2024 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) in the amount of $49,862.00 and approved routine senior services and transit actions, including an ALDOT 5310 drivers handbook and a small donation amendment of $150.00 from Central Alabama Electric Cooperative.
