Union County accepts two resignations, approves travel and hires part-time jailer

The board approved travel for Sheriff Prouty to attend the Western States Sheriff Conference in Reno, Nev., March 9–13, 2025; Commissioners Kimmel and Dailey moved and seconded that travel. The board also approved travel for Tabke and Commissioner Ustad to attend the Annual Weed and Pest Conference in Huron Feb. 18–21, and approved EMA Westcott to attend SD IMAT in Mobridge May 20–22.
Separately, the board approved hiring Hannah Dreeszen as a part-time jailer, effective Feb. 13, 2025, at $20.25 per hour for experience; the motion was made by Kimmel and seconded by Dailey.
