The Union County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) presented proposed amendments to the county's Fire Danger Emergency ordinance (UCC 2003-02 Section 3), and the Board of Commissioners scheduled a public hearing to consider the changes.
EMA official Wescott told the commissioners the amendments address the county's current fire danger emergency procedures and invited formal public review. The board set the first hearing on the proposed amendment for Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the county courthouse.
Commissioners did not adopt the ordinance at the March 18 meeting; they only scheduled the hearing and directed that the amendment be publicly noticed. The item will return to the board for consideration after the hearing and any public comment.
No substantive text of the amendment appears in the minutes; the minutes record only that EMA Wescott presented the amendments and the hearing date and time were set.
