Autauga County approves hires, promotions, budget transfers and annual concrete bids

The Autauga County Commission on July 2 approved routine personnel moves, modest budget adjustments and vendor awards.
The commission accepted the resignation of Nathan Bailey, Mechanic Apprentice, effective July 3 and authorized advertising to hire a replacement. It approved hiring Dietrich Buerk and Tiquisha Brenson as part‑time drivers (pending background checks, drug screens and driver records) and promoted Margie Bolt from part‑time to full‑time driver to replace a retirement. The commission also accepted the resignation of Cynthia Hoppe Schultz effective July 11 and authorized a replacement hire.
Budget transfers included a $1,905 reallocation for the Reappraisal department from capital purchases under $5,000 to registration/training, and multiple small transfers totaling $1,220 for Senior Services to cover mileage, cleaning/janitorial, training and postage.
Procurement actions: the commission approved surplusing and destruction of various county electronic equipment (detailed inventory presented on the consent docket) and awarded annual bids for July 1–Dec. 31, 2024 for concrete to Champ Concrete and concrete pipe to Alabama Pipe and Supply. Motions on the consent docket and the bid awards carried by unanimous vote.
The meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.; the commission reconvened July 16, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
