Autauga County Commission approves consent docket, personnel actions and ARP update

The Autauga County Commission on June 18 approved routine business items on its consent docket, including authorizing designated personnel to attend several training events, confirming a six-month probation reappraisal for Shelby Griffin, and transferring funds to cover May 2024 gasoline usage across multiple departments (a total of $8,151.27 from the general fund and $233.75 from the reappraisal fund).
The commission also approved additional transfers into the Sheriff budget to cover May fuel use for Animal Control ($1,568.75), the school resource officer program ($677.21) and the jail ($728.08). The board authorized surplus and destruction of several Sheriff's Office laptops, desktops and DVR units.
Personnel actions approved included one-year, one-step pay increases for Nathen Bailey (Mechanic Apprentice I), Trace Davis (Laborer I), Frank Lamar (Laborer I) and part-time Sorna/Evidence Officer Karl Youngblood; the commission approved the resignations and terminations recorded on the agenda (terminations of Sgt. Andre Brown and Deputy Dustin Hand were approved and replacements were authorized) and accepted the resignation of Engineering Assistant Craig Schock effective June 28, 2024 with authorization to advertise for a replacement. The commission also amended a line item to apply a $661 supplemental ACCA Insurance check to vehicle repair for a 2018 Durango (VIN noted).
Patrick Addison of PH&J Architects provided an update on American Rescue Plan projects. The commission approved changing the second August meeting from Aug. 20 to Aug. 13 and approved insolvents, errors and taxes in litigation for 2023 and uncollected balances from previous years. The meeting adjourned at 5:39 p.m.; the commission will reconvene July 2, 2024.
