Autauga County Commission approves transportation addendum, several personnel moves

Autauga County Commission Chairman Jay Thompson presided over the June 4, 2024 regular meeting, which opened at 5:00 p.m. and included Commissioners Rusty Jacksland and John L. Thrailkill and county staff Scott Kramer (Treasurer/Administrator), Kyle Shirley (County Attorney) and John Mark Davis (County Engineer).
The commission unanimously approved the minutes of the May 21, 2024 regular meeting and authorized payment of invoices received through June 4, 2024, directing the chairman and the treasurer/administrator to issue warrants for those payments.
The board approved a consent-docket item allowing designated personnel to attend a free Rural Transportation Excel computer skills training session in Montgomery on June 12, 2024.
Commissioners also approved an amendment to county accounting after the receipt of an ACCA Insurance check. The commission recorded a $4,691.00 amendment to line item 001-47905 and moved the amount to account 001-52100-234 to cover costs related to a 2018 Dodge Durango (Vin#474471). The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
The commission voted unanimously to approve the FY2024 Rural Transportation Section 5311 addendum application, a procedural step related to the county's rural transportation program funding for the fiscal year.
On personnel matters, the board approved a two-step pay increase for Truck Driver Troy Cleckler: one step for satisfactory service with a date of hire listed as May 30, 2023, and an additional step for completing coursework to upgrade to a Class A commercial driver's license. The commission also approved a one-year, one-step pay increase for Mechanic Apprentice Cody Kelley, with a date of hire listed as June 6, 2023.
The commission approved hiring Hoyt Painter as Solid Waste Officer (grade 9, step 10), effective June 17, 2024, to replace Rusty Wood, who resigned. All personnel motions were carried by unanimous vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:06 p.m.; the commission set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Chairman Jay Thompson signed the minutes to record the proceedings.
