Lehigh Township’s board approved several recreation projects at its Sept. 9 meeting.
Sandy Hopkins, representing the Recreation Board, said the Rec Board had approved two solid 12' x 12' canopies for the dog park at a total estimated cost of $8,850 to reduce mud at entrances; the board approved that purchase. The board also approved enclosing the undersides of three pavilions at Indiantrail Park at a cost not to exceed $10,500. The Recreation Board proposed adding gates to ballfields; the board authorized adding a single 12‑foot gate at Bryfogle Field (first base side) and a 12‑foot gate on the first base side of the lower Danielsville field and asked the Rec Board to return with specific pricing.
Board members noted the dog‑park shelters were not in the current budget but that funds exist in the Recreation account to cover the cost. The pavilion enclosure quote was below the township threshold that would mandate multiple bids.
The Rec Board will provide final pricing for the field gates for board approval.
