The Union County Board of Commissioners approved intergovernmental agreements for adult detention services with Clay, Turner, Lincoln and Moody counties at the Dec. 9 meeting. The minutes record the daily cost for out-of-county inmates as $80 per day; the motion was moved by Peg Ustad and seconded by Mike Dailey and carried.
Separately the board approved hiring Candy Lopez as a full-time jailer, starting Dec. 8, 2025, at $19.62 per hour (motion by Peg Ustad, seconded by Mike Dailey). The motion carried and is recorded in the minutes.
