The Charles Mix County Board of Commissioners on June 6 approved routine administrative actions including plats, financial reports, payroll items and a law‑enforcement hire.
The board approved two plats recorded in the minutes: Norma Addition 1 in Highland Township and Tracts 1–3 of Doom’s Addition in Bryan Township. The Register of Deeds reported $7,168.00 in fees for May; the board accepted the statement. Auditor Jason Gant presented the Auditor’s Account with Treasurer for April 30, 2024, showing a reconciled total of $8,460,043.88 (total deposits $8,428,050.03; cash $600.00; checks $31,393.85), and the Treasurer’s report showed a beginning balance of $12,036,968.82, income of $1,637,333.92 and expenses of $5,214,258.86 resulting in an ending balance of $8,460,043.88; the board approved both reports by motion. The minutes list detailed vendor and payroll line items; fund totals recorded were General Fund $115,162.66; County Road & Bridge $37,804.70; 911 Service Fund $9,586.51; Emergency & Disaster $2,581.83; 24/7 $1,224.84; grand total $166,360.54.
On personnel, the board approved the appointment of Cole Manholt as Deputy Sheriff, effective May 28, 2024, at $24.72 per hour. The board also approved the agenda, minutes from May 23, 2024, and the bills for June 6 by unanimous motions. The next regular meetings were scheduled for June 27 and July 11; the board adjourned at 11:23 a.m.
