Lake County adopts building-code fees, holds first reading of proposed building-code ordinance

Commissioner James Williams read Resolution 2025-06 (adoption of Lake County building code fees) into the record at the Dec. 2 work session. Vice-Chair Barry Shullanberger moved to approve the resolution and Commissioner Williams seconded; the motion carried on a 3–0 vote.
Commissioner Williams also read the proposed Building Code Ordinance 120 for its first public reading. County staff indicated this was the ordinance's initial reading and further revisions or readings were expected.
Separately, Treasurer Melanie Lasley presented a request to transfer funds under Budget Resolution 2025-06 to cover legal fees associated with labor-union negotiations and said she anticipated zero fiscal impact through the end of the fiscal year. Lasley also requested adding Business Office Director Nicki Alves as an authorized signer on the county's safekeeping account; those items were slated for action in the Regular Session.
An amendment to the intergovernmental agreement for a regional entity between Klamath and Lake Counties was tabled at Commissioner Williams' request pending an answer to a question posed to the South Central Oregon Economic Development District.
The work-session record shows the board carried out the procedural vote on fees and scheduled other finance and ordinance matters for further action in Regular Session.
