Sheriff requests further review of PacifiCorp communication‑site agreement; equipment inspection deferred

Sheriff Daniel Tague asked the board to defer action on a Non‑Exclusive Reciprocal Communication Site Agreement with PacifiCorp so multiple agencies could review contract language and site ownership.
“The tower in the agreement was owned by PacifiCorp, while the site it sat on belonged to Oregon State Police (OSP),” Tague said, and he noted that ODOT had identified language the county should add before signing. Tague recommended inviting Bureau of Land Management, PacifiCorp and OSP to discuss the agreement at a subsequent meeting.
Facilities and Properties Manager David Berman said he and the sheriff had viewed the generator and other equipment and it appeared operational, but that a full inspection would be completed only after the agreement was finalized. The sheriff told the board the contract still needed work and asked to readdress it at a later date.
