He said July occupancy-tax collections had doubled compared with the prior year as more visitors stayed in Plymouth, and he described outreach to towns and local businesses to expand events. Harrison also previewed a proposed Christmas laser light show at the Plymouth Airport on Dec. 17'19 and said he would meet with local partners at Riverview CafE9 to develop programming.
Commissioner Carol Phelps moved to adopt the logo and Commissioner Ann Keyes seconded; Vice-Chair Tracey A. Johnson, Commissioners Walker, Phelps and Keyes voted yea. The board discussed minor implementation details such as versions for letterhead and business cards and asked staff to explore producing staff and commissioner T-shirts bearing the new emblem.
The adoption formalizes county branding and gives staff authorization to use the approved logo in printed materials and outreach. The board did not allocate a separate, line-item budget for marketing at the meeting; any future costs were not specified and will be considered through the normal budget process.
