Catawba County confirms Langdon Ridge assessment roll; eight lots to be billed $3,768.32 each

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 2025-44 on Dec. 15, 2025, confirming the Final Assessment Roll for the Langdon Ridge subdivision road-improvement project and directing the Tax Administrator to collect the assessments.
Utilities & Engineering Director Peter Shonka told the board the total project cost is $30,146.52 and that the assessment is allocated by lot across eight lots. Each lot’s lump-sum assessment is $3,768.32. Property owners may pay the lump sum in full before the first assessment bill is due or choose ten annual payments bearing 1.5% annual interest; the first annual payment, prior to the application of interest, is $408.61.
Shonka reviewed the statutory steps completed under Chapter 153A and the procedural timeline leading to the Final Assessment Roll. Chair Randy Isenhower opened the advertised public hearing; no members of the public offered comment and the board voted unanimously to confirm the roll and authorize collection. The resolution directs the county clerk to deliver the Assessment Roll to the Tax Administrator and requires the Tax Administrator to publish a notice of confirmation on Jan. 6, 2026 outlining payment terms.
